Uma notícia do Jornal Nacional desta noite me deu novas esperanças sobre pessoas que perderam o olfato e o paladar.
Meu marido, João, perdeu ambos os sentidos nos anos 70, e isso atrapalha a precisão de seus outros sentidos.
Uma equipe de estudantes de Goiás apresentou um projeto vencedor de primeiro lugar no concurso da NASA esta semana, que compõe a criação de um chiclete com altas porções de menta e uma pimenta especial, cuja combinação desperta o olfato e o paladar adormecidos dos astronautas, que muitas vezes, devido à falta de gravidade, ficam desorientados sem estes sentidos que desaparecem fora de órbita.
A pesquisa se destacou pela descoberta da dificuldade enfrentada pelos astronautas, a solução encontrada, e também pelo produto criado, que balanceou em proporções exatas e eficientes a menta e a pimenta, sem provocar enjoos estomacais.
Eu aguardo a possível comercialização deste produto em farmácias, com venda sob receita médica, para que eu possa cozinhar as coisas mais gostosas para meu marido, e também para que ele sinta quando uso meus perfumes favoritos. Além, é claro, de retornar à sua percepção, a noção de distanciamento saudável dos objetos e das pessoas, pois é esse o propósito do paladar e do olfato. A falta destes sentidos gera problemas de labirintite e perda parcial dos outros sentidos.

News from Jornal Nacional - Globo this evening gave me new hopes for people who have lost their smelling and tasting senses.
My husband, João, have lost both senses in the 70's, and this fact disturbs the accuracy of his other senses.
A group of students from Goiás-GO/Brazil have presented the winning project at a NASA contest this week, which composes the creation of a gum with high portions of mint and a special pepper. Such combination arouses the smelling and tasting that had been idle in the astronauts, who many times, due to the lack of gravity, are desoriented without these senses that disappear out of orbit.
The research outstanded because of the discovery of the problem faced by the astronauts, the solution found, and also because of the product they've created, which balanced with exact and efficient proportions, the mint and the pepper, without provoking stomach problems and nausea.
I'm waiting for the possibility of a commercialization of this product in the durgstores, under prescription, so that I will be able to cook the most delicious foods to my husband, and also for him to feel when I wear my favorite perfumes. Besides, of course, for him to be able to return to the notion of healthy distancing from objects and from people, because that's the role of the tasting and of the smelling. When missing such senses, problems of labyrinthitis and partial loss of the other senses may occur.
